Before dictating, send this message to ChatGPT to set up the format:
I'm going to dictate my end-of-shift handover notes verbally. When I finish, organize everything I say into these sections: 1) Equipment Status, 2) Pending/Incomplete Orders, 3) Unusual Patient Situations, 4) Supply Issues, 5) Notes for Oncoming Tech. Keep each section brief. Ready?
ChatGPT will confirm it's ready.
Tap the microphone icon and speak naturally. Don't worry about formatting — just say what happened:
"The CR reader in Room 2 was running slow all shift — biomedical was notified and it's on the list for tomorrow. We have 3 pending orders from Dr. Smith that need to be completed first thing — they're all shoulder films. A patient in room 4 came in with a hip replacement from 1970 — unusual alloy — I left a note in the chart, the radiologist wants a pre-scan review. We're low on contrast medium — Isovue 370, about 4 vials left. The new tech starting next week will need a walkthrough on the CR reader workflow."
ChatGPT transcribes as you speak (or you can speak, then tap the microphone again to stop).
